THE MARRIED BACHELOR SYNOPSIS

The marital happiness in Teju's home began to fade away when his wife, Simi alleged of seeing him with another woman on Jumia Black Friday. Though Teju explained to his wife that he was not on a date with another woman but rather on a business mission, she disbelieved him totally. He had a huge quarrel with her which led to Simi attacking him with a knife. After Teju survived the attack, he went into a sleep where he dreamt of the sweet moments he had with his wife just a week ago. When he woke up the next Saturday which followed Jumia Black Friday, he struggled to make it up to his wife before their wedding anniversary which was just a week away but to no avail. He started to live like a bachelor even when he was still married because his wife abdicated her duties. Incidentally, Teju discovered that one of his wife's friend, Tiwa was the one who poisoned his wife against him but he refused to act, until he went on a date with his wife on their unhappy wedding anniversary, and his wife deliberately ditched him. Instead of going home, he went to Tiwa's house to accost her. Tiwa revealed her scheme to Teju, that she wanted Simi to divorce him so that she could marry him but Teju thinking of the love he had for his wife ended up killing Tiwa. Meanwhile, Tiwa had earlier sent a video message to Teju on his laptop, and Simi discovered she had been fooled all along by her friend. When he came back home, there was a sensational reunion between Teju and Simi, but their happiness was quickly disrupted by Simi's miscarriage caused by the shock she had. Subsequently, they separated as Teju went into hiding for his murder, but he later surrendered himself when he heard his wife was facing the law on his behalf.
The Married Bachelor is a touching and heart-rendering story of love, betrayal and bittersweet reconciliation, depicting a typical marital crisis in modern day African setting.
