Strike: Students Volunteer As Porters In UI

As academic and non academic staff of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, UI, down-tooled in compliance to the directive of the National body of their respective unions, postgraduate students of the university have reportedly volunteered as porters in some halls of residence.
The staff of the university are not offering any service to students, while many offices and lecture rooms remain locked.
Nigerian Tribune reported that vacation notices were pasted in hostels, while few students were seen in ones and twos chatting.

Some non-teaching staff, under the platform of NASU, expressed positivity that upon meeting with the federal government on Thursday, the 2009 agreement under contention, will soon be implemented and the strike would be called off.
